Subject: Complaint of online financial fraud on 2 March 2026 involving ₹48,500 — request for registration of FIR
Sir / Madam,
I, Rohan Kulkarni, resident of Flat 3, Example Residency, Nashik, Maharashtra 422001, submit this complaint regarding an offence committed against me through electronic means.
On 2 March 2026 I received a call claiming to be from my bank about a blocked account. On the caller's instructions I approved a collect request in my UPI app, and Rs 48,500 was debited in two transactions. I realised it was a fraud when my bank confirmed that it had made no such call.
The following particulars of the person(s) responsible are known to me from the communications and transactions: A caller using the name "Customer Care" and a UPI handle shared over a chat app (details in the attached screenshots).
Reported on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (acknowledgement no. SAMPLE-ACK-000123). My bank has been informed (reference SAMPLE-UPI-4471 and SAMPLE-UPI-4472).
The facts disclose offences of cheating and cheating by personation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and offences under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (including unauthorised access, identity theft and cheating by personation using a computer resource). The exact provisions may be settled by the investigating officer.
I request that an FIR be registered, that the accused's mobile numbers, UPI IDs and bank accounts listed above be traced and frozen through the banks and the National Cyber Crime portal, and that I be provided a copy of the FIR free of cost. If this police station lacks jurisdiction, I request registration of a zero FIR and its transfer to the competent station.
