Solving Water Problems Project:
- Limit of Funding: ₹15,00,000. Duration: 2 years from the date of receipt of the first installment.
Power/Solar Energy Project:
- Limit of Funding: ₹20,00,000. Duration: 6 months from the date of receipt of the fund for the purpose.
Internet Connection Project:
- Limit of Funding: ₹5,00,000. Duration: 6 months from the date of receipt of the fund for the purpose.
Disbursement of the Funds:
- The first installment is an advance of 80% of the sanctioned grant. The second installment is reimbursement on successful completion of the project and submission of requisite documents by the institute.
Note:
- If the project is not initiated within six months, the institute shall have to refund the complete grant with accrued interest to AICTE with justification.
Eligibility
- a. Government/Government-aided technical/engineering colleges/University Departments including Polytechnic Institutes of North East are entitled to the grant.
- b. The institute must be in existence for the last five years.
Documents required
- For water projects: Plan/detailed estimates of the project; Abstract of the estimates; PWD/CPWD rate certificate; conformity with AICTE norms and rates as per CSR of the region; mode of construction (Contract/Departmentally/Deposit work by PWD); and a certificate from the Principal/Competent Authority (concerned Secretary, State Government for Technical Education) that expenditure over and above AICTE grant, if any, will be met by the State Govt./college and construction will not be delayed for want of funds.
- Terms and Conditions: Annual Progress Report; Project Completion Report after completion; and Utilization Certificate and Statement of Accounts in prescribed proforma duly audited by the Finance Officer/Account Officer before claiming the balance and on completion.
- For procurement of Solar power energy equipment/Generator/Internet connection: Documentary proof of cost etc. with purchase procedure/formalities as per GFR; and a certificate from the Principal/Competent Authority that expenditure over and above AICTE grant, if any, will be met by the State Govt./college and the purchase will not be delayed for want of funds.

- Submission by the institute; screening/scrutiny at Council; evaluation by the expert committee; final decision by the Council considering expert recommendations and availability of funds; and, after approval, the Sanction Letter and first installment sent to the institution.
