Benefits
Limit of Funding: Up to ₹1,50,000/-. The grant is disbursed on a reimbursement basis on receipt of the claim form with relevant documents. Total grant is based on the recommended group of countries with fixed financial effect:
Group A (North America, Australia, South America, New Zealand): ₹1,50,000/-.
Group B (Europe, Far-East Asia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea & Africa): ₹1,20,000/-.
Group C (Neighbouring Countries, Gulf Countries & SE Asia): ₹1,00,000/-.
Group D (Within India): ₹50,000.
Group E (conferences not covered above): evaluated by the committee. The amount recommended per group of countries, or the average of amount recommended by the experts, or the actual expenditure incurred, whichever is lesser, will be entitled.
Reimbursement covers: registration fee for the conference; per-day allowance (days of the conference plus actual journey period) as per central government rules; and total travel expenses from international airport to destination airport and back.
Note: If a candidate has availed a grant in Group D, the individual is still eligible for international support (within three years) minus the amount utilized for within-India travel. For online-mode workshops/conferences/seminars, AICTE will release only the registration fee. Journey must be by Air India (unless Air India certifies no flight on the sector). Only one proposal at a time; application to be submitted three months in advance.
Eligibility
- Full-time regular faculty from an AICTE approved Institute/AICTE approved University Department (with at least 5 years of existence).
- The officers of Assistant Director and above on regular and deputation basis in AICTE.
- The applicant must not have availed the grant under this scheme during the last three years.
- Applicant must have received acceptance of paper from the organizer of conference abroad & within India.
Documents required
Claims for reimbursement in the prescribed format, duly supported by the following documents, should be sent to AICTE through the Head of the Institution within two months of completion of the visit:
- Certified attested copy of passport indicating visa/immigration as proof of undertaking journey.
- Self-attested certificate for the journey performed.
- Statement of expenditure incurred against the travel grant offered under different heads.
- Air-tickets of Air-India/Indian Airlines (legible, in original with original Boarding Pass).
- Certificate from Air-India indicating the shortest route to the venue approved (or a non-availability certificate if not performed by Air-India).
- Letter of acceptance of paper from the organizer; original receipt of Registration Fee paid; copy of paper presented.
- Voucher indicating the foreign-currency purchase rate; travel documents/certificate of participation.
- Progress report on the international conference (outcome and benefits) in the prescribed format, counter-signed by Director/Registrar/Principal.
- Certificate from the head of the institution that the applicant has not availed the AICTE travel grant during the last two years.
- Details of assistance received from other organizations; Certified copy of AICTE Extension of approval for current year; E-payment details; and photographs of the conference.
How to apply

Register (New Institute):
- Visit http://portal.aicte-india.org/partnerportal_enu/start.swe and click 'New Institute'. Hover on Login, select 'Investor Login', click 'Sign Up Now', enter details, and click 'Verify' to receive an OTP on your email and mobile number.

Login:
- After successful verification, log in with the credentials provided by AICTE.

AQIS Application:
- Navigate to the AQIS Application screen; institute details auto-populate. Fill in demographic and bank details; only after confirming bank details is the 'New' button enabled to create the AQIS Application.

Select Scheme:
- A unique AQIS Application ID is created. Select "AICTE-PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SCHEME" (or "Travel Grant Scheme") from the dropdown list.

Fill Details:
- Fill Program Details, Personalities Expected, Participating Industries, Similar Events, Budget Estimate-Others, Academic Credentials of Coordinator/PI/Applicant, Justification, and Credentials of Institute/Department.

Validate & Submit:
- Click 'Validate Application', attach the Mandate Form (after downloading the sample), fill the amount in 'Total Funds Requested' under 'Budget Estimates Others', read and check the declaration, click Save, and click 'Submit'.
