Saksham is a Scholarship Scheme by the Ministry of Education, implemented by AICTE, aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially-abled children to pursue technical education. This is an attempt to give every young specially-abled student the opportunity to study further.

Benefits
Annual Scholarship:
- ₹50,000/- per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum 3 years for first-year admitted students and maximum 2 years for second-year admitted students through lateral entry, as a lump sum amount towards payment of college fee, purchase of computer, stationeries, books, equipment, software, etc.
DBT Payment:
- After selection, the awardee will be paid a scholarship through DBT mode on an annual basis.
Renewal:
- The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of renewal through the National Scholarship Portal by submitting a passing certificate/mark sheet along with a letter from the Head of the Institution on the online portal.
Eligibility
- The candidate should be admitted to the First year of the Diploma level course OR the Second year of the Diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE-approved institutions of the respective year.
- Specially-abled students have a disability of not less than 40%.
- Family income from all sources should not be more than ₹8 lakh per annum during the current financial year. A valid income certificate issued by State/UT Government needs to be enclosed.

- Copy of SSC/10th certificate & mark sheet
- Copy of HSC/12th certificate (In case of Degree level) & mark sheet.
- Copy of ITI certificate (In case of Lateral Entry for Diploma level) & mark sheet.
- Copy of Diploma certificate (In case of Lateral Entry for Degree level) & mark sheet.
- Category Certificate, if applicable.
- Study/Bonafide Certificate (Appendix-I).
- Annual Family Income Certificate (Appendix-II).
- Promotion Certificate in case of renewal (Appendix-III).
How to apply
Exclusions: Students failing to get promoted to the next class/level would forfeit the scholarship. The gap between the year of passing the qualifying examination and the session of admission should not be more than two years. If a candidate fails/drops out in a subsequent year, she/he will not be eligible for further scholarship. The scholarship is subject to the condition that the student does not receive any other financial assistance (scholarship, emoluments, salary, stipend, etc.) during the course; on receipt of such assistance, the scholarship is discontinued and the entire amount must be refunded to AICTE by demand draft in favour of "Member Secretary, AICTE" payable at New Delhi.

A Registration Form appears (fields marked * are compulsory). Fill in the details and click "Register". Your Application ID and password will be displayed and also sent as an SMS to your registered mobile number.

On the Login page, click "Login to Apply", enter your Application ID and password, type the Captcha, and click "Login". Provide the OTP received on your registered mobile number, then create and confirm a new password. Click "Submit" to reach the Applicant's Dashboard.

On the left pane, click "Application Form". Fill the details (fields marked * are compulsory) and upload the documents. Click "Save as Draft" to complete the application later, or click "Final Submit" to submit the application.

What Is The Mode Of Disbursement Of Scholarship?
Scholarship will be disbursed only through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the bank account of the student by AICTE. Student must have General Saving Account in his / her name (FRILL/Minor/Joint account will not be accepted).
