Inspection Readiness:
- Once an establishment applies for classification or reclassification, it must be ready at all times for inspection by the Classification Committee; no deferment requests are entertained.
Validity:
- Classification is valid for three years from the date of issue (or, for reclassification, from the date of expiry of the last classification), provided the application is received within the stipulated time, i.e., 3 months before expiry.
Application Fee:
- The application fee for classification/reclassification (demand draft payable to the Sr. Accounts Officer, Directorate of IP&T, Port Blair): Silver ₹1,000/-; Gold ₹2,000/-.
Eligibility
- A person holding property in A&N and willing to use a part of it to provide accommodation for Guests (Tourists) can register the same under the Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Scheme of A&N Admin.
- The property can be either "Owned" or "Rented/leased". For the purpose of this scheme, the term "Owner" refers to both types.
Documents required
- Prescribed application form (Annexure I).
- Facilities Checklist (Annexure II).
- Undertaking by the owner/promoter (Annexure III).
- Supporting documents: Proof of ownership or lease; ID proof of applicant; Photographs of rooms, kitchen, entry area; No Objection Certificate (if applicable).
- The application captures the name and category of the B&B/Homestay, promoter/owner names and addresses, property details (room counts, sizes), and ownership or lease documentation.

- Fill out the prescribed application form (Annexure I), facilities checklist (Annexure II), and undertaking (Annexure III).

- Include proof of ownership/lease, ID proof, photographs of rooms/kitchen/entry area, and a No Objection Certificate (if applicable).

Pay the Fee:
- Pay the applicable registration/classification fee and attach the payment receipt.

- Submit to: The Director (Tourism), Directorate of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Port Blair.

Inspection & Certificate:
- The premises will be physically inspected by the classification committee after preliminary scrutiny; upon successful inspection, a classification certificate is issued (valid for the notified period). Renewal must be submitted at least 3 months before expiry.
