Three channels, three purposes. Use all three when money or data is lost; the acknowledgements are what the bank and the insurer ask for.
1930 / cybercrime.gov.in — the citizen channel
For any financial fraud or cyber crime against you or your business. The portal report creates the acknowledgement number the bank needs; the 1930 call triggers the freeze attempt through the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting system. Report within the hour for money; within days for other crimes.
CERT-In — the national incident channel
For incidents at a business: ransomware, data breach, defacement, unauthorised access. CERT-In's directions require reporting within six hours of noticing. E-mail [email protected] with the incident form; keep the ticket number.
The police station
For an FIR, which an insurer or a court may need. Any station can register a zero FIR and transfer it. Take the printed complaint (the generator on this desk), the portal acknowledgement and the evidence list.
Others
Chakshu (Sanchar Saathi) for fraud numbers and SMS; RBI Sachet for illegal lenders / deposit schemes; SEBI SCORES for investment fraud; the platform's own report form for account hijacks.
