About the Readiness Quiz

The funding readiness quiz is an eight-question self-check that tells you how prepared your business is to apply for a loan, subsidy or grant. Answer Yes or No to each question and you receive a score out of 100, a grade from A to D and a one-line verdict on what to do next.

It is designed for MSME owners, shopkeepers, startups and self-employed professionals who are thinking of approaching a bank or a government scheme for the first time. Two minutes here can save a wasted application: the questions cover the basics that lenders check first — registration, tax returns, banking discipline, books of accounts and clarity about how the money will be used.

Your grade depends on which questions you answer Yes. Registration, a filed income-tax return, a clean six-month bank statement and a clear purpose for the funds carry 15 points each; a current account, monthly books, a quotation and a certification carry 10 each. A score of 80 or more is an A, 55 a B, 35 a C, and anything lower a D.

How to use it

  1. 1Answer Yes or No to all eight questions honestly; the result appears only after every question is answered.
  2. 2Read your grade, your score out of 100 and the verdict.
  3. 3Note every question you answered No — each one is an item to fix before you apply.
  4. 4Optionally share your grade on WhatsApp, or create a free account for the full assessment and scheme matches.

Frequently asked questions

How is the funding readiness score calculated?

Each Yes earns points: 15 each for GST or Udyam registration, last year's ITR, a clean six-month bank statement and knowing exactly what the funds are for; 10 each for a separate current account, monthly books of accounts, a quotation for the planned expense and any certification such as FSSAI, ISO or DPIIT. The maximum is 100.

What do the grades A, B, C and D mean?

A, at 80 or above, means funding-ready: your file should stand up well. B, from 55 to 79, means almost there, with two or three items to fix. C, from 35 to 54, means build the foundation first — registration, ITR and clean banking. D, below 35, means fix the basics before applying at all.

Does an A grade in the funding readiness quiz mean my loan will be approved?

No. The quiz checks whether the basic building blocks are in place; it does not examine your credit score, profitability, collateral or the viability of your project. A lender or scheme authority takes its own decision after verifying documents. Use the grade as a preparation checklist, not as a prediction.

I scored a C or a D. What should I do first?

Start with the items that carry 15 points: get GST or Udyam registration, file your pending income-tax return, keep your bank account free of cheque bounces for six months and define precisely what the funds are for. As the tool warns, applying too early can leave you with a record of rejections.

How is this quiz different from the full assessment?

The quiz is a quick self-check built on eight Yes or No answers. The full Funding Readiness assessment, available with a free account, scores five dimensions — business profile, documents, financial readiness, compliance and funding fit — and matches you to schemes in our database. The quiz is a good first step before that.

Are my answers saved or shared?

The quiz is scored inside your browser and the tool does not submit your answers to our servers. Sharing the grade on WhatsApp is entirely optional and happens only if you click the share button, which opens WhatsApp with a pre-written message that you can edit or discard.
